[KM] Laos promotes agro-processing industry development for export markets

[KM] Laos is stepping up efforts to develop its agro-processing industry, aiming to shift away from exporting raw agricultural commodities towards higher-value processed goods.

[KM] [Bộ Công Thương Lào] said new incentives will target investors setting up processing facilities for crops such as coffee, cassava and bananas, which currently make up a large share of unprocessed exports.

[KM] The policy includes tax incentives for processing facilities located near production areas, as well as support for smallholder cooperatives to meet quality standards required by export markets.
