Cross-border logistics and e-commerce

This course equips import-export officers, logistics staff and small business owners in Viet Nam with practical knowledge to run cross-border logistics and e-commerce chains with Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Learners will understand customs procedures, rules of origin, how to choose a transport mode, organise warehousing and the cold chain, cross-border payments and risk management.

Cross-border e-commerce between Viet Nam and Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar is growing fast, but logistics costs in the CLMV region remain much higher than in developed countries, mainly due to infrastructure, customs procedures and a lack of connectivity between digital platforms. This course helps learners understand and smoothly operate each link of a cross-border logistics chain.

The course has seven chapters, moving from an overview of cross-border logistics and e-commerce, through customs procedures and rules of origin, multimodal transport and economic corridors, warehousing and the cold chain, e-commerce platforms and payments, to risk management, cargo insurance and dispute resolution. Each chapter includes a video lecture, an in-depth reading and a short quiz.

The content is practice-oriented, grounded in the corridors, checkpoints and goods commonly traded between Viet Nam and the CLMV countries, with concrete processes and checklists that businesses can apply right away.
